Candidate Nominations
The Senior Election Official will be accepting nominations for the positions of Councillor and School Trustee on September 1, 2, and 4 between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm at the TRCC, in the Bill Comaskey Wellness Centre.
The nomination deadline is September 7, 2020 at 4:00pm.
A nomination must be submitted in writing, include at least 25 voter signatures, or 1% of the local voter base, and include a declaration of qualification.

Eligible Voters:
Residents are eligible to vote if they are a Canadian Citizen 18 years of age or older, and have either resided or owned property within the City of Thompson for at least six months on Election Day (as of April 14, 2020).
Students attending university outside of the City who intend to return home after their current term are also eligible voters.
Local residents with no fixed address are also eligible voters, such as those who live at a local shelter, hostel, or similar social institution.
