Freezing Rain Warning
Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for Thompson early Thursday morning. 10 to 20 mm of rain are expected Thursday, starting as scattered showers and then becoming moderate rain. The rain is forecast to become freezing rain overnight, with an accumulation of 2 to 5 mm, before becoming light snow later on Friday. Environment Canada warns that weather-related utility outages are possible and that road and sidewalk conditions will be potentially hazardous for drivers and pedestrians. With the ground still frozen, water may build up in low spots and other areas faster than storm drains can drain it. Drivers should be aware of potentially deep puddles on roadways.
