Contracting to Work on City of Thompson Projects
Any contractor who is qualified to do the job has a chance to work on a construction project for the City of Thompson.
Additional laws and regulations make public sector procurement different than that in the private sector to ensure purchases serve the public interest. The rules are designed to make the public tender process as fair as possible to contractors, the City, and taxpayers.
The City may evaluate competing bids according to its own criteria set for each individual project, whether or not such criteria has been expressly relayed to bidders. The City of Thompson need not award a tender or proposal to the lowest possible bidder, but rather the one deemed to be in the best interest of the City based on the criteria established when the tender/RFP was released.
The City has the right to disqualify contractors from the tender process if they have failed to complete their obligations under any prior contract with the City of Thompson, or if they have been involved in litigation with the City.
Though the City hopes to receive as many bids as possible, we cannot make special concessions for individual contractors: tenders and proposals must be submitted by official deadlines and strictly follow the required process or risk being rejected in the interests of fairness. Any changes to deadlines or tenders will be posted as addendums, and apply equally to all interested contractors.

The City of Thompson is seeking quotes from qualified organizations to support the "Beautify Thompson Initiative." The successful bidder will assist in enhancing the city's appearance by identifying and removing/covering up graffiti and maintaining city flowers. The work will take place during the following season - June, July, and August 2026 - to ensure that these tasks are completed during the peak summer months when the city sees the highest community activity and floral growth. |
