Over the last year, the City of Thompson has been intensively reviewing its old Taxi By-Law to better regulate vehicle-for-hire services in Thompson, and to better protect both drivers and customers alike.
The draft by-law was reviewed and made public at City Council's Committee of the Whole meeting on December 5, 2022, and will pass through first, second, and third readings of city council over the next two months.
The City is asking that taxi owners, drivers, dispatchers, and other operators review the by-law and provide their feedback to ensure the by-law reflects the needs of both the City and the vehicle-for-hire industry at large. You can read the by-law here:
