Thompson.ca Vision

The mission of Thompson.ca is to provide a comprehensive online resource for our community. We strive to offer a site for our hometown with a community portal that:

  • Allows residents to quickly and easily find and share information
  • Promotes communication and collaboration among neighbors and organizations
  • Provides useful Web-based services for our community
  • Provides local merchants with a new media venue to leverage the Web's revolutionary, inexpensive marketing capabilities to promote their products and services within the community

Our goal is to provide a place where all Thompson residents, businesses and organizations can efficiently share information with each other to make our community a better place to live.

A community project

Thompson.ca was started up in partnership with North Central Community Futures Development Corporation (North Central Development), the City of Thompson and Mystery Lake School Division. Funding partners were N.A.A.C.A., Community Connections and C.E.D.T.A.P. A steering committee, comprised of local business owners, the City of Thompson and North Central development officers led the project to the launching stage. The Mystery Lake School Division hosts and manages the server, which is located at R.D.Parker Highschoool.

Thompson.ca was launched in 2003 with the first comprehensive, Web-based business and organization directory for Thompson. This directory is the most comprehensive Web resource for our community.

Artek Solutions, a locally owned business, was involved as one of the key leaders in this project
