Transporting and Disposing Waste - A Reminder
Posted Date: 08/06/2017

The City of Thompson is excited by the interest that residents have shown in Waste Disposal Week. We continue to encourage residents to take advantage of the waiving of residential tipping fees at the Waste Disposal Grounds!

However, we must remind residents to please secure your loads to ensure that waste does not fly off onto the highway on the way to the WDG. Unsecured loads pose a significant safety hazard, and vehicles carrying unsecured loads may be ticketed by RCMP or transportation officers.

We also remind residents to please ensure that they dispose of their waste in the designated areas according to its type. Improper disposal of waste is also a ticket-able offence under the Province of Manitoba.
If you have any questions regarding the appropriate area to dispose of waste, please feel free to ask the attendant present for clarification.

For further questions, please contact Public Works at 204-677-7970.

The City of Thompson thanks you for your cooperation.
