Gary CeppetelliWelcome to the City of Thompson!

Hi my name is Gary Ceppetelli. I was hired in 2008 as Director of Planning and Community Development and came to the City of Thompson with a planning background, having worked with the Province of Manitoba for 20 years. On December 12, 2011, I was appointed by Mayor and Council as the City Manager for the City of Thompson. In undertaking this role, I look forward to dealing with residents of the City to ensure the provision of services is sustainable while meeting their expectations.

The City Manager’s Role

The City Manager is the senior appointed official of the City of Thompson and is the main liaison between Council and Administration. The City Manager contributes leadership and enthusiasm to the organization and works closely with the Mayor, Council and the City’s management team in developing and implementing an overall vision and direction that will meet both current and future needs of the City. Based on the direction provided by Mayor and Council, the City Manager leads a staff of dedicated team professionals in delivering services to the residents of the community.

  • MAYOR AND COUNCIL APPROVE WASTEWATER TREATMENT BORROWING BY-LAW

    THOMPSON, January 24, 2017 –After receiving approval from the Manitoba Municipal Board the Friday prior, the City of Thompson’s Mayor and Council passed the second and third readings of Borrowing Bylaw 1948-2016 at a special regular meeting of City Council on January 23, thereby approving the financing model that will fund the upcoming replacement of the city’s current wastewater treatment facility.   • HYDRANT REPAIR - ROTARY SPLASH PARK AREA, APRIL 26, 2016

    Please be advised we are repairing a fire hydrant at the Rotary Splash Park today. This will not cause water disruption in the area. For the safety of our crews and the public, we will be closing the road in front of the Rotary Splash Park on Deerwood Drive and Caribou Road.
