My name is Wayne Koversky and I am the Director of Public Works and Operations. I have been employed with the City for 39 years of which 8 years have been with the present position. I enjoy fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with friends and family.

Public Works is responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of the City's general utility system, infrastructure, and equipment necessary to provide the residents of Thompson with services such as water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, garbage collection, snow removal, etc. within a responsible budget as set out by Council.

Public Works (PW) consists of four (4) general areas - Water and Sewer, Labour,  Mechanical, and Waste Disposal Grounds is comprised of a total of 39 full-time and approximately 6 seasonal employees on a yearly basis.

  • DELAYED GARBAGE PICK-UP FOR THE BURNTWOOD AREA, April 27, 2016

    Please be advised that garbage pickup for the Burntwood area will be delayed today. Please leave your garbage at the curbside until it is collected.   • STREET SWEEPING STARTS MAY 2, 2016

    Please be advised that on Monday May 2, 2016, we will commence street sweeping starting with all priority one areas, followed by the residential areas. We will provide updates notifying residents which areas we are working in. Please drive with caution when travelling in these areas.   • HYDRANT REPAIR - ROTARY SPLASH PARK AREA, APRIL 26, 2016

    Please be advised we are repairing a fire hydrant at the Rotary Splash Park today. This will not cause water disruption in the area. For the safety of our crews and the public, we will be closing the road in front of the Rotary Splash Park on Deerwood Drive and Caribou Road.

  • UPDATE - EMERGENCY WATER BREAK - 75 RAINBOW CRESCENT, March 6, 2016

    The repairs are completed and water has been restored.
